Professional Military Education (PME) is often considered to be the responsibility of the formal schools which a military professional attends through the course of their career. However, the vast majority of a professional’s time will be spent in a unit outside of this formal education.
Increasingly the mark of a good unit has become the frequency and quality of its internal PME programme to develop individuals and teams. Set against internal and external pressures unit PME often lives or dies due to support of the Commanding Officer (CO) of the day. Join us as we discuss unit PME with two serving COs who have both invested significant energy into creating and protecting PME programmes within their respective units.
